The SEM 15143, Sandstone Color Coat Vinyl Paint is specifically designed for restoring or changing the color of vinyl, carpet, properly prepped and primed metal, velour, and plastic. It is commonly used for refinishing vehicle interiors and motorcycle seats. All Color Coats are easy to use and dry quickly. They are highly elastomeric and resistant to cracking.

Surface preparation is crucial for applying SEM Color Coat. First, it is essential to thoroughly clean the surface to be sprayed with hot soapy water using SEM 39362 SEM Soap. After rinsing with water, the surface should be dried thoroughly with a blow dryer or towel, followed by cleaning with SEM 38343 Vinyl Prep or SEM 38353 Plastic Prep. Without a clean surface, the product will not adhere properly. For plastic surfaces, it is necessary to use a plastic adhesion promoter, such as SEM 39863 Plastic Adhesion Promoter or SEM 38363 Sand Free, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Once the surface is properly prepped, Color Coat can be applied in light, even coats with 5-10 minutes between each coat, which is preferable to applying one heavy coat. For additional protection or to change the sheen, one of Sem's clear coats, such as SEM 13003 High Gloss, SEM 13013 Satin Gloss, or SEM 13023 Low Luster, can be applied. The product will be dry to the touch in approximately 10 minutes, but the substrate should not be subjected to heavy abuse or abrasion for a minimum of 24 hours.

It is important to note that this product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
