Black Landau Vinyl Paint SEM 15013

The SEM 15013, Landau Black, Color Coat Vinyl Paint comes in a 12 oz aerosol can and provides coverage for approximately 10 square feet. This product is specifically formulated to restore or change the color of vinyl, carpet, properly prepped and primed metal, velour, and plastic. It is commonly used for refinishing vehicle interiors and motorcycle seats. All Color Coats are user-friendly and have a quick drying time. They are also highly elastic and resistant to cracking.

One of the most critical aspects of using SEM Color Coat is proper surface preparation. It is essential that the surface to be sprayed is thoroughly cleaned. Hot soapy water can be used wherever possible, and SEM 39362 SEM Soap should be used to scrub the surface followed by a rinse with water. After drying, the surface should be cleaned again with SEM 38343 Vinyl Prep or SEM 38353 Plastic Prep. This thorough cleaning process is crucial for ensuring that the product adheres properly to the surface.

In the case of plastic surfaces, a plastic adhesion promoter is required. SEM 39863 Flexible Bonding Clear or SEM 38363 Sand Free are both suitable for this purpose and should be applied according to the manufacturer's instructions. The Color Coat can then be applied in several light, even coats with 5-10 minutes of drying time between each coat. This approach is preferable to applying one heavy coat.

For additional protection or to alter the sheen of the finish, one of Sem's clear coats can be applied. Options include SEM 13003 High Gloss, SEM 13013 Satin Gloss, or SEM 13023 Low Luster. The product will be dry to the touch in around 10 minutes, but it is advisable to avoid subjecting the substrate to heavy abuse or abrasion for a minimum of 24 hours after application.
